zdev.conf broken, or am I doing it wrong?

if the awk statement is replaced with:
ID_ZPOOL=$( grep -w ${ID_PATH} ${CONFIG} | sed -e "s/\s${ID_PATH}//" )
the thing will work regardless of awk version on any linux system.  a 
variable needs to be made for $GREP and $SED instead of $AWK.
