Hi @Kostya, at Hajo !

Thanks for the reply. I have build-essential installed.

The probably important part in the cobf.log seems to be:
>
gcc (Debian 4.9.2-10) 4.9.2

configure:3401: $? = 0
configure:3390: gcc -v >&5
Using built-in specs.
COLLECT_GCC=gcc
COLLECT_LTO_WRAPPER=/usr/lib/gcc/x86_64-linux-gnu/4.9/lto-wrapper
Target: x86_64-linux-gnu
Configured with: ../src/configure -v --with-pkgversion='Debian 4.9.2-10' --with-bugurl=file:///usr/share/doc/gcc-4.9/RE$
Thread model: posix
gcc version 4.9.2 (Debian 4.9.2-10)
configure:3401: $? = 0
configure:3390: gcc -V >&5
gcc: error: unrecognized command line option '-V'
gcc: fatal error: no input files
compilation terminated.

/etc/apt/sources.list looks ok (no testing or such, just 'jessie main').

And even bad: I cannot repeat - the behavior is now another one.
Have I told, it's a Virtualbox VM ? There are the client kernel modules
too.

Thanks so far,
Manfred

Obviously wrong path to gcc. What does `which cc` gives off? Do you have gcc installed?

Hi !

I have a debian VM (virtualbox) for some time and now
decided to make a normal zfs setup.

The dependencies seems to be resolved and the packages
are download, but build fails:

Error! Bad return status for module build on kernel: 3.16.0-4-amd64 (x86_64)

Astoundingly, setup continues and failes for zfs-dkms with
'the same' error message. Then setup continues and loading
zfs modules naturally fails.

I am on jessie:
3.16.0-4-amd64 #1 SMP Debian 3.16.7-ckt11-1 (2015-05-24) x86_64 GNU/Linux

Any help would really be great!

Thanks,
Manfred
