Below is a sample of the script that includes automatic snapshot name generation.
#Get and set day and hour for NOW and PAST
PAST=$(TZ=GMT+125 date +"%a%d-%H")
# set variables
# Destroy the prior $PAST snapshot
echo "Destroying $svol@$PAST"
/sbin/zfs destroy $svol@$PAST
# Create the Snapshot
echo "Creating $svol@$NOW"
/sbin/zfs snapshot $svol@$NOW

How would you name snapshots then? Incrementing integer?
