The guide describes the procedure to install ubuntu on a single disk or
mirrored pool. In your case you are using raidz-2 setup.
My understanding is that grub is failing to recognise the filesystem of
each disk/partition which is a member of this raidz-2 pool.
Have you tried just ignoring those warnings and proceed to the next step
which is installing grub boot loader? That would be something like the
below. Not sure if you have to repeat that command for each member disk of
the pool, I guess yes.

#grub-install /dev/disk/by-id/usb-XXXX

What's the result of the above ? If successful, what happens when reboot ?
Do you see the grub menu options ?
